How is GST calculated?
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is an indirect tax charged on the supply of most goods and services in India. This calculator works both ways: it can add GST to a base price, or take GST out of a price that already includes it.
Add GST
Total price = Original price + GST amount
Remove GST
GST amount = GST-inclusive price − Original price
CGST and SGST
For sales within the same state, the GST is split equally between the Central GST (CGST) and the State GST (SGST). For sales between states, the full amount is charged as IGST. The total tax is the same in both cases.
